Back To School Campaign
Every July and August
In the United States, an estimated 15.5 million children and teenagers witness or experience domestic violence in their households annually. By the time they turn 17 years old, more than one-third of all American children have been exposed to domestic abuse or intimate partner violence (IPV). Many of these kids are struggling to meet their basic needs, including how to get ready for the first day of school. This year, there are 392 kids and teens surviving domestic violence being supported by Greenhouse, Apna Ghar, Centro Romero, and Family Rescue shelters who need your help. As a supporter, you can:
Join Us at Our BackPacking Party:
Thanks to a generous donation of our supporter and GRAMMY Award Winner, Jeff Tweedy, we will provide all the school supplies, including the backpacks for each student!
You’ll help pack backpacks with essential school supplies, decorate cards with words of encouragement for their first day, and celebrate over a decade of impact with snacks, drinks, and building a supportive community.
Share Our Mission
Sharing this message helps us reach more supporters and ensures more children start the school year feeling supported.
Every contribution—large or small—helps us meet families where they are and respond with care.
Thanks to you, Be Alright has stood with families for years, providing support, care, and hope. As we work toward our 20-year milestone in 2029, we hope you’ll consider making a gift this year to help even more children begin the school year confident, prepared, and supported.
With deep gratitude and appreciation,
Be Alright
