Support the 2026 Be Alright Back to School Campaign

In the United States, an estimated 15.5 million children and teenagers witness or experience domestic violence in their households annually. By the time they turn 17 years old, more than one-third of all American children have been exposed to domestic abuse or intimate partner violence (IPV). Many of these kids are struggling to meet their basic needs, including how to get ready for the first day of school.

As a child survivor of DV myself, I know deeply what it means to show up to school with little to no supplies and the shame you feel when you’re unable to fully participate on this special day. This is one of the reasons Be Alright was born. This year, there are 389 kids and teens living in the Greenhouse, Apna Ghar, Su Casa, and Family Rescue shelters who need your help. As a supporter, you can sponsore a young person by either shopping for their supplies and dropping that off at one of our predetermined locations or donate funds towards their supplies that we will order and donate. Each student needs a set of school supplies and a backpack which is valued at approx. $100 but any amount is welcome!
